01 Why this policy exists
XCODX gives everyone free access to real developer tools, including a code-execution engine and live-preview service that run on shared infrastructure. To keep that possible, everyone has to use it responsibly. This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) describes uses that are not allowed. It is part of, and uses the same defined terms as, our Terms of Service. If you break this Policy, we may act under section 6.
02 Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service, or allow anyone else to use it through you, to:
- Break the law. Do anything illegal, or create, store, or distribute unlawful content, including content that infringes intellectual-property rights, violates privacy, or is otherwise unlawful where you or your users are located.
- Create or spread malware. Write, host, compile, or distribute viruses, worms, ransomware, spyware, or other malicious or harmful code intended to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any system or data.
- Attack or intrude. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to, probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system, network, or account; bypass authentication; or use the Service to attack, disrupt, or overload any third party (for example, denial-of-service attacks, port scanning, brute-forcing, or credential stuffing).
- Mine or generate cryptocurrency, or run other resource-abusing workloads whose purpose is to consume computing power rather than to develop or learn.
- Send spam or phish. Use the Service to send unsolicited messages, phishing pages, scams, or fraudulent or deceptive content.
- Host harmful or infringing content, including malware distribution pages, phishing sites, or content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually exploitative, or that endangers minors.
- Misrepresent or impersonate any person or organization, or falsely imply affiliation with or endorsement by XCODX.
03 Abuse of the execution & preview infrastructure
The code runner, preview, and package infrastructure exist to help you build and test. You may not use them to:
- Run persistent, long-running, or background services (for example, always-on servers, bots, crawlers, or job queues) rather than development and testing workloads;
- Operate proxies, VPNs, tunnels, or relays, or otherwise route third-party traffic through our infrastructure;
- Use the Service as general-purpose file hosting, a CDN, a backend, or a database for external applications;
- Deliberately overload, degrade, or circumvent limits on the Service, including rate limits, execution-time limits, or resource quotas, or automate use in a way that places an unreasonable load on the infrastructure;
- Interfere with the Service’s normal operation or with other users’ ability to use it.
04 Fair use and technical limits
We may apply technical limits — such as execution time, request rate, payload size, and resource quotas — to protect the Service, and we may adjust them at any time. These limits are there to keep the Service fast and available for everyone; do not attempt to evade them. Automated or high-volume access must not disrupt the Service or degrade the experience for others.
05 Security and integrity
Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, tamper with, or circumvent any security, access-control, or usage-limiting feature of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law. Do not scrape or harvest the Service or its content except as expressly permitted. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly (section 7) rather than exploiting it.
06 Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and take any action we consider appropriate, including rate-limiting, blocking, removing content, and suspending or terminating access — with or without notice — as set out in our Terms of Service. We may also preserve and disclose information where we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with the law, enforce this Policy, or protect the Service, our users, or the public. We are not obligated to monitor use, but we may do so.
07 Reporting abuse or vulnerabilities
If you believe someone is misusing the Service, or you have found a security issue or content that infringes your rights, please contact us at [email protected] with enough detail for us to investigate. We appreciate responsible reports and aim to act on genuine issues promptly.
08 Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service evolves and as new forms of abuse appear. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the current Policy.
